  • A doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field, or ABD status nearing completion, with an initial appointment at the rank of instructor.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and strong potential for productive research or scholarly activities.
  • Ability to teach Research Methods in Psychology or History of Psychology in Social Context.
  • Commitment to inclusive classroom practices supporting students from varied backgrounds and interests.
  • Potential to establish a vibrant, high-quality, and inclusive research program at a well-equipped undergraduate institution with potential for external funding.
  • Ability to involve and mentor undergraduate collaborators in research.
  • Commitment to the mission and convictions of the University of St. Thomas.
  • Consent to and successful completion of a background screening.
Responsibilities
  • Teach 5-6 courses per academic year, depending on lab courses, using in-person, online, or mixed delivery.
  • Teach Research Methods in Psychology or History of Psychology in Social Context.
  • Teach other courses in the curriculum or develop new courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs.
  • Advise students and mentor student research.
  • Maintain an active scholarship agenda.
  • Provide service to the department and/or university.
  • Work with department colleagues to strengthen and advance the program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in teaching other courses that enhance the department’s current offerings.
