About the job

Requirements
  • A relevant scientific degree and extensive experience developing (not merely performing) ELISA, lateral flow assay, or other immunoassay techniques; examples include a PhD focused on developing these techniques or prior work as a Research Assistant or Scientist at a contract research organization, hospital, or immunoassay development company. Basic experience performing immunoassays during a Life Sciences bachelor's or master's degree is insufficient.
  • Awareness of product development, good laboratory practice, and safe working in an industrial laboratory.
  • Comfort working with human samples such as blood.
  • Ability to take a research question and design timely experiments to answer it, independently when appropriate, while accounting for required assistance, services, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to format and analyse raw assay response data, derive concentrations from calibration curves, and reach definitive conclusions that can be documented for the company's Design History.
  • Ability to perform statistical tests to determine whether observations are significant.
  • Awareness of how deliverables fit within the broader assay-team development plan and ability to keep managers updated on project progress and blockers.
  • Ability to integrate into a new team and collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Work within the assay development team under a project leader's guidance to discover formulations and procedures for lateral flow assays.
  • Optimise existing formulations and improve assay-reagent manufacturing efficiency by testing changes to procedures identified independently or in discussion with the project leader.
  • Guide Research Assistants' work when experiments require support.
  • Use immunoassay technical knowledge to propose hypotheses and solve technical problems.
  • Maintain an electronic laboratory notebook to company standards, recording experimental data and observations.
  • Communicate work progress, findings, observations, and suggestions to the project leader and, occasionally, the wider company in collaborative meetings.
  • Help develop Research Assistants' technical skills while completing technical work and analysis together.
Desired Qualifications
  • Recent experience developing immunoassays in an industrial laboratory under ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 and good laboratory practice.

About the company

Level Zero Health develops a biosensor platform for remote, continuous hormone monitoring. Its core product is a minimally invasive arm patch that uses DNA-based biosensors and microneedles to measure hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, and testosterone in interstitial fluid. The patch attaches to the skin, accesses interstitial fluid with microneedles, and converts hormone levels into electronic signals sent to a connected system for real-time tracking integrated into clinical workflows. The company differentiates itself with continuous, real-time data from a wearable platform focused on women's health, validated at 98% accuracy in simulated clinical ranges, and pursuing FDA and CE approvals to enable IVF, menopause management, and testosterone replacement therapy applications. Its goal is to move hormone tracking from infrequent tests to continuous data streams to support better clinical decisions, with plans to expand into consumer and pharmaceutical markets.

What believers are saying

  • April 2026 LinkedIn update said clinical-grade hormone measurement without blood draws works.
  • February 2025 funding closed at $6.9 million from Redalpine, HAX, and EF.
  • August 2026 reporting says major IVF clinics signed $3 million letters of intent.

What critics are saying

  • Single-use intermittent patch needs FDA and CE clearance before 2026 revenue.
  • Continuous wearable slips to 2028, leaving competitors time to capture clinics first.
  • SPRIND backs seven rivals, including Biomarq Health and PHOEBE, in parallel.

What makes Level Zero Health unique

  • DNA-based microneedle patch measures progesterone, estrogen, cortisol, and testosterone from interstitial fluid.
  • SPRIND selected Level Zero Health in July 2026 for its €40 million challenge.
  • CEO Ula Rustamova and CTO Irene Jia combine Palantir software and Philips devices.
