Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with Aderant, Elite, or other professional services billing/collections systems.
Responsibilities
  • Review and monitor key performance metrics for the billing and collection organisation.
  • Establish and maintain protocols and procedures to ensure timely, complete, consistent, and accurate client invoicing, adhering to all necessary guidelines.
  • Track and minimise revenue loss resulting from ineffective billing or collection processes. Effectively manage and communicate fee arrangements, including busted deal discounts, fixed, tiered, and capped fees.
  • Seek process and technology enhancements to boost productivity and improve departmental services.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with the Firm’s financial policies.
  • Proactively engage with senior leadership and attorneys to ensure billing services meet and exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with the global Billing & Collections leadership team to establish short and long-term projects, shaping the strategic direction of the department and broader finance function. Share best practices and define effective operational processes.
  • Identify critical business challenges and partner with financial systems management for process improvements and technology solutions.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance.
  • Work with the Managing Director/Director of Billing & Collections to meet monthly billing and revenue collection targets.
  • Provide relevant reporting on billing and collection data, including key performance metrics for firm management.
  • Assume unique local responsibilities or additional duties specific to the role or location as requested.
