Solenis relocates Pulp Center of Excellence to Brazil to accelerate innovation for the global pulp industry.

Solenis relocates Pulp Center of Excellence to Brazil to accelerate innovation for the global pulp industry. 6 October 2026 15:58 Solenis, a leading global provider of water treatment, process and hygiene solutions, has relocated its Pulp Center of Excellence from the U.S. to a new facility in Paulínia, Brazil. The move expands the company's global research and development capabilities and positions innovation closer to the world's fastest-growing pulp region. Located alongside Solenis' existing Paulínia Technology Center, the new 500-square-meter facility is dedicated to developing global solutions for the pulp industry. It brings together scientists, application expertise, process knowledge and advanced testing capabilities to help customers address complex operational, efficiency and sustainability challenges. The center is staffed by a dedicated team of scientists and technicians with deep expertise in pulp applications, process chemistry and customer-focused innovation. "By placing our global pulp innovation capabilities in Brazil, we are moving closer to our customers and to one of the most dynamic pulp regions in the world," said Christoph Adami, Vice President, Innovation. "This center strengthens our ability to collaborate directly with producers, accelerate innovation cycles and develop next-generation technologies that help pulp manufacturers worldwide improve productivity, cost position and sustainability." Latin America has become a global hotspot for pulp production, with regional capacity increasing significantly over the past decade and additional growth expected. Brazil remains a key destination for industry investment, with Mato Grosso do Sul accounting for a large share of announced pulp projects. Solenis' Pulp Center of Excellence is strategically located in the Campinas/Paulínia technology hub, enabling faster responses to customer needs and closer collaboration with key regional producers. "Latin America plays a pivotal role in the evolution of the global pulp industry and Brazil remains one of the sector's most important investment destinations. The new Pulp Center of Excellence strengthens our ability to work side by side with customers, respond quickly to emerging needs and bring the best of Solenis' global expertise to support their growth and operational success," said José Aguirre, Vice President and General Manager, LATAM. The center supports full-process coverage, from wood handling through cooking, brownstock washing, bleaching, recausticizing and refining. These capabilities allow Solenis teams to simulate different stages of pulp manufacturing, evaluate treatment programmes and develop solutions across the entire pulp mill. Current development areas include a talc-free pitch control platform, pitch monitoring equipment co-developed with industry partners, a first-of-its-kind cooking additive designed to improve cooking yield, and a silicone-free defoamer family already recognised in the Brazilian market. Together, these technologies reflect Solenis' focus on helping pulp producers optimise performance, reduce operational constraints and support more sustainable production. Solenis continues to invest in R&D capabilities to support customers globally and reinforce its commitment to the pulp and paper industry. The center complements customer expertise and production knowledge with Solenis' broad portfolio of chemistry, monitoring and process solutions, creating a collaborative environment for innovation and long-term value creation. The company maintains 16 R&D centers globally, strategically located to focus on critical specialties, with some operating as Centers of Excellence. In addition, the company operates 11 Customer Application Laboratories (CALs) to help customers solve complex, real-world chemistry challenges.

Solenis partners with Moleaer to integrate nanobubble technology for polymer activation in water treatment

Solenis has entered a strategic representation agreement with Moleaer to expand nanobubble technology for polymer activation in water and wastewater treatment applications. Under the global deal, Solenis will serve as Moleaer's exclusive third-party representative for nanobubble technology in polymer activation. Moleaer's patented nanobubble technology will be integrated into Solenis' Novera Nanobubble Performance Program, combining Moleaer's process improvements with Solenis' chemistry and technical expertise. The partnership targets industrial and municipal markets, focusing on applications such as dewatering, thickening, and clarification. When introduced into make-down water for polymer activation, nanobubbles can reduce polymer consumption by 10% to 40% in applicable treatment processes, with a 2% to 4% increase in cake dryness. Actual results vary based on application and operating conditions.

Women's representation in Indian workplaces falls: Report.

Women's representation in Indian workplaces falls: Report. Women's representation in Indian workplaces has declined to 34.6 per cent in 2026, down from 35.7 per cent in 2025, according to 2026 Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) study by Avtar and Seramount. A total of 387 companies participated this year, of which 125 made it to the Best Companies list. The participating organizations span a diverse range of industries. Of the Best Companies, 37 per cent are Indian companies and 63 per cent are MNCs. The decline in women's representation comes even as Top 10 companies held steadier at 42.8 per cent. After eleven years of steady gains, the data sends a clear message: progress cannot be taken for granted, the study noted. "If the trend severely impacts the number of women employed in India, then I believe that is a huge concern for the government," Dr Saundarya Rajesh, Managing Director, Avtar Career Creators said during a virtual press conference on Wednesday. Rajesh said that the decline comes amid a global pullback in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts following an executive order issued by US President Donald Trump in January 2025. She argued that multinational companies operating in India need an India-specific strategy focused on increasing women's participation in the workforce. She suggested that the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry could examine the issue. She also said Avtar was ready to prepare a policy guideline or white paper on practices companies could continue to follow in India. The 11th edition of the BCWI study covers 26,53,741 professionals, including 9,18,531 women, across more than 22 industries. The study tracks workforce profile, recruitment, retention, advancement, attrition, safety, parental benefits, work-life programmes and company culture. Share of women in Corporate Executive roles fell to 16.7 per cent among Best Companies this year, down from 20 per cent in 2025, the study said. Rajesh said women's leadership representation, which had increased consistently in previous years, has now fallen back to a level recorded in 2022. She described the reversal as a "cautious and extremely worrying trend", particularly as artificial intelligence is affecting jobs and, in her assessment, having a sharper impact on women. The participation of Indian companies in the benchmark, meanwhile, has increased, with their share rising from 25 per cent in 2021 to 37 per cent in 2026. According to the study, India-headquartered companies recorded lower women's representation at 31.4 per cent, compared with 41.1 per cent in American-headquartered companies and 39.2 per cent in other-foreign-headquartered companies operating in India. The gap widening further up the ladder, where women hold just 14.2 per cent of Corporate Executive roles versus 18 per cent and 20 per cent respectively. Within India itself, women's representation is strongest in South Indian metros: Bengaluru (41.1 per cent), Chennai (39.1 per cent) and Hyderabad (38.9 per cent), while Delhi-NCR lags at just 28.5 per cent, nearly 12 percentage points below the highest-performing city. The study also examined why women and men leave organizations. Attrition rates among Best Companies converge closely for both genders, at 20.4 per cent each. Access to better job opportunities remains the No. 1 reason to quit, cited by 89 per cent of women and 93 per cent of men. Health and wellbeing related challenges emerge as a bigger reason for women to exit than childcare responsibilities, a pattern that has now held for a second consecutive year. The Top 10 Best Companies for Women in India are Accenture Solutions, AXA XL, Barclays, EY, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Lear Corporation, Procter & Gamble, Tech Mahindra, TVS Motor Company and Vedanta Oil and Gas. The Top 10 Best Companies for Workplace Wellness are Accenture, Axis Bank, CGI, EY, HCLTech, HDFC Life Insurance, Infini, Omega, Tech Mahindra and Wipro. The Best Companies for ESG list includes ABB, Aptiv, Bosch, HCL, Infosys, Lear Corporation, Solenis, Tech Mahindra and Vedanta. Latest. September 10, 2026 September 9, 2026 Don't miss.
