About the job
- Minimum of 1–2 years of interpreting experience is required.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Interpreting certifications are preferred.
- Provide virtual and on-site, in-person interpretation.
- Serve as a liaison using the client's preferred language.
- Interpret accurately in a manner appropriate to the setting and audience.
- Comply with state, local, and federal laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of medical information, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Accept appointments on an as-needed basis as an independent contractor providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis.
- Experience interpreting in a variety of settings, including medical, social work, education, and workplace settings.
