Requirements
  • Proven experience successfully leading a program.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Windows.
  • A driver's license is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that a person-centered focus is used to provide care and support by all staff who work within the residence.
  • Ensure a positive climate that promotes respect and dignity for people supported.
  • Support each person's independence, choice, and outcomes.
  • Participate in the screening, admission, and discharge of people within the residence to ensure a smooth transition of support.
  • Promote participation in meaningful daily living activities, such as vocation, recreation, and spirituality.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and personalized support to meet requirements, requests, and concerns.
  • Provide opportunities for people supported to personalize their environment.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the residences through observation, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Maintain all records and systems and ensure staff are properly trained and supported.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in all aspects of each person's life, including health protocols, personal choice, and outcomes.
  • Lead meetings with all stakeholders to ensure participation for all members of each person's circle of support.
  • Represent the division and organization by participating on developmental-disability councils and IAC committees.
  • Coach and mentor all staff under supervision.
  • Apply appropriate techniques for conflict resolution, crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
  • Provide round-the-clock responsiveness as part of emergency notifications and assistance.
  • Ensure that programs operate within their established budget.
  • Partner with Human Resources on hiring, developing, and retaining staff.
  • Maintain all records in compliance with OPWDD regulations.
  • Ensure observations are completed across all staffing shifts.
  • Ensure all healthcare needs are met and all staff are trained in the needs of the people supported.
  • Ensure all fire safety regulations are met.
  • Ensure all agency policies and procedures are followed.
  • Partner with the Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement team to ensure that all standards relative to the residences are met.
  • Continually monitor the program to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that the CARF philosophy is implemented and reassessed accordingly.
  • Ensure that the program continuously requests feedback from all stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid certifications are preferred; on-the-job training is provided.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A driver's license is preferred.
