Requirements
  • Practice of the Catholic faith is required, and public conduct must be consistent with the mission, faith, morals, and policies of the Church and diocese.
  • A bachelor's degree in Theology, Catechetics, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in parish ministry or a related field is required.
  • Must have or be in the process of obtaining diocesan catechetical certification.
  • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, sacramental theology, and liturgical practices is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A valid Florida driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple programs, schedules, and deadlines is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement baptismal preparation programs in collaboration with the Pastor.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers involved in baptismal preparation.
  • Meet with families to guide them through the sacramental preparation process.
  • Facilitate preparation sessions and ensure appropriate materials are available.
  • Coordinate baptismal liturgies and ensure proper sacramental recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate marriage preparation programs in accordance with diocesan and parish guidelines.
  • Meet with engaged couples to provide guidance, resources, and formation.
  • Support clergy in identifying and addressing pastoral needs of couples.
  • Coordinate preparation processes, including FOCCUS and related formation elements.
  • Assist couples in understanding parish liturgical guidelines for weddings.
  • Ensure accurate sacramental records and documentation are maintained.
  • Collaborate with parish staff and leadership to align with overall faith formation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, including Safe Environment requirements.
  • Participate in parish and diocesan meetings related to ministry responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
