  • An engineering or doctorate-level qualification and at least about ten years of experience, including significant product-development experience in an industrial group in design, architecture, or research and development management for electromechanical, electronic, or connected products.
  • Experience in technology strategy, including roadmaps, technology portfolios, and research and development investment trade-offs.

  • Inform allocation of research and development investments, testing resources, and partnerships.
  • Select technology partners with experts and Procurement to accelerate development roadmaps.
  • Anticipate emerging capabilities, beginning with artificial intelligence, and estimate the cost of acquiring them.
  • Set recruitment, succession, and technical career-path requirements for Human Resources and laboratories.

What believers are saying

  • Commercial entry route: the German apprenticeship rotates trainees through purchasing, accounting, marketing, sales, and human resources.
  • Remote allowance: Overkiz in Annecy advertises ninety remote days annually, including four weeks away from home.
  • Sales equipment: BFT's UK area-manager package includes an electric company car, laptop, tablet, and phone.

What critics are saying

  • Academic requirement: the German apprenticeship asks for strong upper-secondary or university-entry school qualifications.
  • Specialist experience: the Overkiz senior embedded role requires ten years developing Linux systems in a Yocto environment.
  • Territory travel: BFT's South West England sales position requires extensive travel and regular overnight stays.

What makes SOMFY Group unique

  • Shared problem-solving: quality teams use short-interval management and the eight-discipline method to improve performance across entities.
  • After-sales model: group brand Répar'Stores repairs and upgrades shutters, awnings, and garage doors to extend product life.
  • Interoperability strategy: connected platforms support major voice ecosystems, while the group participates in Zigbee, Thread, and Matter alliances.
