About the job
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering is required.
One to three years of hands-on maintenance experience in food processing, fast-moving consumer goods, or agricultural products is required.
Proven maintenance experience with conveyors, production lines, X-ray systems, air handling units, cooling units, sorters, metal detectors, mixers, chocolate production lines, baking systems, and packaging lines is required.
Working knowledge of utilities such as compressors, chillers, and pumps is required.
Familiarity with food safety requirements, including hygienic equipment design and equipment sanitation, in maintenance work is required.
Experience using a computerized maintenance management system and basic troubleshooting tools is required.
Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to reduce unplanned downtime.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, perform root cause analysis, and execute necessary repairs.
Accurately document all maintenance activities.
Ensure root cause analysis is performed during problem solving.
Ensure critical equipment is fully operational during high-demand harvest months, such as Barhi and Medjool harvest.
Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production schedules and operational urgency.
Coordinate with production and quality teams for planned shutdowns.
Monitor and maintain utilities, including air compressors, the steam network, cooling systems, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Ensure utilities operate within defined performance and safety parameters.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards during maintenance interventions.
Use appropriate cleaning and disinfection procedures before and after work on production lines.
Maintain mechanical compliance with hygiene standards, including lube-free pneumatics, food-grade lubricant usage, and sanitary welding standards.
Monitor spare-parts consumption and request replenishment of critical stock.
Optimize spare-parts usage and identify alternatives to contribute to cost control.
Identify recurring failures and propose solutions to improve equipment reliability.
Participate in root cause analysis, Kaizen events, and engineering modifications.
Apply lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, and other safety measures during maintenance work.
Promptly report and escalate safety risks or equipment abnormalities.
Desired Qualifications
Additional certificates in maintenance systems, such as total productive maintenance or a computerized maintenance management system, are considered a plus.
