Requirements
  • Basic understanding of commercial construction means and methods and industry practices.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience and experience managing a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings and evenings, to meet project needs.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling, and occasional sitting and computer-screen use.
  • Willingness to travel for day work to different markets.
  • Ability to transport personal or company-provided tools.
  • Ability to provide, operate, and maintain construction tools safely and properly.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise on-site employees and assist when necessary.
  • Develop general knowledge of project-specific plans and specifications.
  • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment for layout, metal stud framing, blocking, drywall hanging, millwork, cabinet layout and installation, door, frame and hardware layout and installation, Division 10 miscellaneous accessories installation, forming, rebar, and concrete pouring.
  • Coordinate the management of on-site stored materials to avoid obstructions to subcontractor progress and the project completion schedule.
  • Receive materials at job sites and direct their organized storage.
  • Open and close job sites for workers as directed by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Use company-provided technology to write work orders, file expense reports, log crew time, read and mark up drawings, and order materials.
  • Determine the quantities and types of materials, equipment, and tools required to perform work as directed by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Enforce required on-site safety procedures.
  • Participate in the Safety and Health Management System by following safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within the role’s capability and control with support from safety staff.
Desired Qualifications
  • Willingness to gain experience with construction management software, specifically Procore and Bluebeam.
