Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • One to two years of experience and/or training in aviation or cargo operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Must be trained and signed off to perform specialty responsibilities such as aircraft oil and oxygen service, and hold required base-specific certifications such as towing and deicing.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass company criminal and motor vehicle background checks, drug tests, and airport background-check requirements to receive and maintain an airport security badge, and must be insurable under applicable company insurance policies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the jurisdiction of employment.
  • Must have excellent vision and coordination to move or direct aircraft and visually inspect aircraft fuel.
  • Must pass a color vision test for aviation-fuel inspection.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license; a commercial driver's license may be required by local regulations and business needs.
  • Must exercise good judgment and follow directions from supervisors or management.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English for safety-sensitive tasks.
  • Must clearly communicate in English in person, by telephone, radio, and in writing, and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must perform simple arithmetic including percentages, fractions, angles, degrees, and time calculations.
  • Must use telephone, fax, two-way radio, email, and text messaging for operational and guest communication.
  • Must physically enter, exit, and operate motor vehicles and ground-support equipment, and safely perform fueling and deicing functions from elevated heights.
  • Must analyze and evaluate information and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must use a computer and email, pass computer-based training modules, learn company software, and complete Signature's training programs successfully and on time.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor Airside Experience Specialists' and Associates' performance for technical accuracy, demeanor, and compliance with company policies; correct performance as needed and alert management to ongoing concerns.
  • Coordinate, assign duties, and provide shift supervision to qualified Airside Experience Specialists and Associates.
  • Provide on-the-job training and assistance to Airside Experience Specialists and Associates.
  • Serve as a resource on guest-service matters and an escalation point for guest inquiries.
  • Conduct airside operations safely and efficiently according to established policies and standard operating procedures, using accurate communication to complete operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members, guests, clients, vendors, and aircraft crewmembers to meet service needs, including cargo operations, fueling, deicing, lavatory, ground power, potable water, parking, marshalling, wing walking, catering delivery, and towing.
  • Prepare for arriving and departing aircraft, perform open job tasks, and immediately report observed safety concerns.
  • Operate and drive ground-service equipment including fuel trucks, deicing trucks, ground power units, tugs, stair trucks, and freight-handling equipment.
  • Load and unload luggage and cargo into and out of aircraft, the private aviation terminal, guest vehicles, and other transportation modes.
  • Provide professional and friendly guest service while maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Transport guests, luggage, and cargo safely using shuttle vehicles.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and secure ramps and operations.
  • Handle fuel quality control, fuel receipts, inventory, and related documentation.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce operational, safety, and guest-service requirements.
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions or acts could harm people, the environment, assets, or the company's reputation; report concerns and cooperate in corrective action.
  • Follow emergency-response procedures during critical events.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce Signature Aviation and airport physical, cyber, and data-security protocols.
  • Create accurate records of time worked and activities and services performed.
