Requirements
  • A Bachelor, Master and/or Doctorate degree in physical therapy from an accredited university or program is required.
  • Physical Therapy licensure as a PT in the State of Texas is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain that demeanor when dealing with difficult, impatient, or upset people are required.
  • A passion for helping people feel better, get stronger, and stay out of pain is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
  • Evaluate each patient’s strength, balance, range of motion, coordination, endurance, and posture.
  • Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Provide or recommend equipment and supplies for home use and instruct patients in an in-home treatment program to facilitate rehabilitation and promote independence of care.
  • Communicate with referring physicians and other appropriate personnel through progress notes, letters, evaluations, meetings, and direct contact regarding each patient’s proposed course, progress, and discharge plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • Outpatient orthopedic experience, including exercise, manual-based skills, and sports rehabilitation, is preferred.
