Requirements
  • Certificate or diploma from an approved or accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
  • Licensure by the state regulatory agency is required if applicable.
  • Advanced certification by the accrediting body in the specialty is required within 18 months of hire if applicable.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Clinical knowledge typically achieved with two years of experience is required.
  • Effective communication and human relations skills are required.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform prescribed procedures independently by following and verifying referring providers’ orders and applying learned methodologies according to established policies and procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the procedure or treatment to be performed.
  • Produce high-quality images and prepare and present them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Perform prescribed invasive or interventional procedures when applicable in accordance with established policies.
  • Perform and evaluate equipment quality-control measurements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors and adhere to safety policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work information and fulfill ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice.
  • Assure efficient department workflow and maintain adequate inventory of supplies and materials to prevent interruption of services.
  • Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • DEXA experience is preferred.
  • Foundation Registry and Travel positions require at least one year of experience in an acute-care hospital setting, including work in an acute-care setting within the past 12 months in the area of specialty.
