Requirements
  • Documented application of reverse engineering and vulnerability testing tools, including Ghidra or IDA, Kali Linux, Angr or AFL++, and QEMU or Unicorn.
  • Experience with reverse engineering, vulnerability research, malware analysis, and/or computer network operations tool development.
  • Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals, Windows and Unix-like operating systems, and x86-64, ARM, or MIPS architectures.
  • Knowledge of cyber operations architecture and software engineering practices.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely in documents and presentations for senior leaders.
  • An active government security clearance at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information level with eligibility for special accesses.
  • A Bachelor's degree and either 6 or more years of relevant experience for the Senior Professional level, or 3 or more years of relevant experience for the Advanced Professional level.
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance, participation in the Applied Research Laboratory drug testing program, and compliance with electronic and physical monitoring requirements applicable to federal contractors.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Research cutting-edge techniques and technologies for system exploitation.
  • Use reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and software development expertise to address established needs and investigate solutions to emerging requirements.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to create proof-of-concept tools and configure test environments for demonstrations to sponsors and partners.
  • Assist the Cyberspace Operations Research Department Head with sponsor relationships through on-site technical discussions, preparation and presentation of technical materials, and project-related correspondence.
  • Enhance processes for technical functionality evaluation, vulnerability analyses, cyberspace operations engineering, and penetration testing projects.
  • Apply project management principles and methods to lead tasks or projects.
  • Provide guidance to lower-level engineers to foster their professional growth.
  • Understand broad strategic objectives and contribute to them; nurture relationships with major customers and grantors of external research and development grant funding.
  • Initiate new project concepts, seek funding, develop technical proposals, and present them to customers and grant sponsors.
  • Mentor department staff in developing technical, project, and business development skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with cybersecurity exploit development and test environment configuration.
  • Experience with cybersecurity penetration testing, Red Team testing, or white hat hacking.
  • Military cyberspace operations or computer network operations experience.
  • A demonstrated history of successful project initiation efforts.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology and tools.
  • Experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence.
