  • Ophthalmic Scribe Certification is required within one year of entering the role.

  • The position requires close visual acuity for computer-terminal viewing, extensive reading, and interpretation.
  • The position requires prolonged stationary work.
  • The position requires repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
  • The position requires concentration and focus, independent task execution, memorization of tasks, and the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a demanding environment.
  • The position requires comfort working and interacting with large groups of people daily.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient history.
  • Follow the Atlantic Vision Partners care-pathing model.
  • Determine visual acuity.
  • Understand routine and basic medical International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision codes.
  • Understand routine insurance plans.
  • Use manual and automatic lensometers.
  • Stock rooms.
  • Understand scheduling.
  • Complete monthly chart audits.
  • Process medication refills.
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician.
  • Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into the electronic medical record and providing patient services.
  • Complete compliance training and testing annually and as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation, including using power hand tools and lifting a minimum of 70 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to submit to a background check, including a drug screen for Ambulatory Surgery Centers only.
