Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in AML, BSA, financial crimes compliance, risk, fraud, operations, Banking-as-a-Service oversight, or a related regulated environment for the Manager level.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in AML, BSA, financial crimes compliance, risk, fraud, operations, Banking-as-a-Service oversight, or a related regulated environment for the Senior Manager level.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience supervising, managing, or formally leading analysts, specialists, or operational teams responsible for compliance, risk, monitoring, review, or control activities.
  • Working knowledge of anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, know-your-customer, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, issue management, quality review, and related control or oversight practices.
  • Experience setting team priorities, assigning work, monitoring workload, reviewing escalated matters, and ensuring timely completion of required oversight activities.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and manage performance of team members while reinforcing documentation quality, sound judgment, accountability, and procedural consistency.
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve routine issues, support remediation, gather information, and sustain effective oversight execution.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead multiple priorities in a dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, supervisors, managers, senior analysts, or complex workstreams within AML, financial crimes, risk, operations, or regulated oversight functions.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, know-your-customer, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, issue management, risk-based oversight, quality assurance, and governance practices.
  • Experience translating functional priorities into team goals, operating routines, staffing needs, quality expectations, and execution plans.
  • Ability to evaluate complex escalations, identify material risks or control gaps, and guide leaders or analysts toward practical, risk-based recommendations and remediation actions.
  • Experience supporting audits, examinations, regulatory responses, or remediation activities through leadership reporting, evidence preparation, issue tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to develop leaders and senior analysts through coaching, performance guidance, technical direction, and support for complex or ambiguous oversight scenarios.
  • Strong communication, analytical, influencing, and change leadership skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for a range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of AML Banking-as-a-Service Oversight analysts responsible for partner oversight, monitoring routines, documentation review, issue tracking, and related AML/BaaS control activities.
  • Set team priorities, allocate resources, and oversee workload distribution to ensure timely, accurate, and risk-based execution of required oversight responsibilities.
  • Establish quality expectations for analyst work products, review escalated matters, and ensure findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions are well-supported and appropriately documented.
  • Lead team execution of Banking-as-a-Service partner oversight routines, including periodic reviews, remediation follow-up, evidence collection, issue aging, and preparation of materials for management review.
  • Identify trends, process gaps, control concerns, or recurring issues across analyst work and partner with leadership to implement practical improvements that strengthen consistency and scalability.
  • Coach, develop, and manage performance of analysts by setting expectations, providing regular feedback, supporting skill growth, and reinforcing accountability for quality execution.
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination with compliance, risk, operations, business, and partner-facing teams to resolve issues and support effective execution of oversight obligations.
  • Support audit, examination, and internal review readiness by ensuring team records, evidence, procedures, and open items are complete, current, and organized.
  • Lead one or more teams of AML Banking-as-a-Service Oversight analysts and/or team leaders responsible for complex partner oversight, financial crimes risk review, issue management, and control execution.
  • Translate functional priorities into team goals, operating routines, and execution plans that support regulatory readiness, effective risk management, and sustainable Banking-as-a-Service oversight practices.
  • Identify key outsourced activities during the planning phase.
  • Review and assess documentation and artifacts to support a risk assessment of a partner control environment in alignment with bank standards for outsourced Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, and Office of Foreign Assets Control activities during the due diligence phase.
  • Communicate issues and work on corrective action plans with the Banking-as-a-Service business line and prospective partner during due diligence, selection, and ongoing monitoring phases.
  • Establish contract requirements to ensure effective oversight of partner Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, and Office of Foreign Assets Control outsourced activities during the contracting phase.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of outsourced Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, and Office of Foreign Assets Control activities, document and monitor issues, track issues through resolution and validation, update partner and product risk assessments, review partner business changes, and assess regulatory-change impacts.
  • Communicate Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, and Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements for partner termination plans and execute project-plan tasks to ensure effective termination of partner relationships.
  • Oversee quality, consistency, and risk-based judgment across analyst work products, escalations, findings, remediation tracking, and leadership reporting.
  • Lead review of higher-risk partner, customer, transaction, product, service, geography, and operational matters, ensuring material concerns are evaluated, escalated, and addressed appropriately.
  • Develop managers, supervisors, and senior analysts through coaching, performance guidance, technical direction, and support for complex or ambiguous oversight scenarios.
  • Drive process, control, documentation, and workflow improvements that enhance oversight effectiveness, scalability, consistency, and accountability across the team.
  • Represent the function in cross-functional forums, audit and examination preparation, remediation discussions, and governance routines by providing clear updates, risk-based recommendations, and execution status.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones to align cultural and business objectives, prioritize important work, and coach employees toward high performance.
  • Facilitate execution through effective situational leadership tools.
  • Support engagement and action by listening to team-member feedback, helping employees initiate and execute positive changes, and providing adequate resources.
  • Recognize team members through timely, individualized recognition.
  • Promote collaboration and face-to-face interaction.
