Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) credential with at least 3 years of related experience.
  • The ability to provide and use personal tools.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is highly desired and mandatory in some locations.
  • The ability to frequently lift, push, or pull more than 50 pounds and occasionally lift, push, or pull more than 100 pounds.
  • Compliance with Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Maintenance of a current driver qualification file, including an annual motor vehicle records check, a completed Department of Transportation physical, and safety performance history records from prior employers within the last three years.
  • Commercial Driver’s License holders must complete Department of Transportation drug screening within 30 days of starting and are subject to a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Clearinghouse review.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts.
  • Complete thorough online work-order documentation for repairs and preventive maintenance through the Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic technology and software when applicable.
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Select and use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment, follow machine-guarding requirements, and apply established safety practices.
  • Drive company, fleet-management, and customer vehicles as required by the role.
  • Maintain compliance with company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations and fleet-management safety standards.
  • Travel as required.
  • Complete other assigned projects or duties.
