Requirements
  • MDCB certification.
  • At least 2 years of continuous recent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience documenting quality assurance procedures.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an ACR/APEX-certified healthcare system.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Varian TrueBeam and RapidArc.
  • At least 1 year of experience with image-guided radiation therapy using cone-beam computed tomography under TG-142 standards.
  • At least 3 years of experience with the Eclipse planning system and ARIA system across stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and intensity-modulated radiation therapy modalities.
  • At least 3 years of experience with a GE computed tomography simulator or equivalent.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulders during the work shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
  • Ability to push or pull with 30 pounds of force.
Responsibilities
  • Perform dosimetry functions under Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board certification.
  • Receive direction from a VA radiation oncologist and/or medical physicist.
  • Design treatment plans for stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic radiotherapy, HyperArc, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, two-dimensional/three-dimensional, and image-guided radiation therapy.
  • Assist with simulations and tumor localization, including computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron emission tomography-computed tomography fusions.
  • Oversee fabrication of beam-modifying and immobilization devices.
  • Implement treatment plans and verify correct use of devices.
  • Perform and document dosimetric calculations.
  • Support the medical physicist with quality assurance, calibration, and radiation protection.
