- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- One to five years related experience with rotating equipment preferred
- Knowledge of pump hydraulics, mechanics, and construction
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools
- Provide Applications Engineering support to channel partners, distributors, and end users
- Provide optimal design selections based on customer requirements
- Estimate project costing and negotiate lead times
- Collaborate with purchasing team and other stakeholders to obtain costing for components as required
- Support maintenance of CRM funnel to ensure opportunity visibility by field sales team
- Develop technical depth and understanding of Xylem products and applications
- Support submittal development
- Collaborate with other technical and engineering groups to provide the required customer solution
- Proactively anticipate and mitigate risk
- Provide timely responses to inquiries
- Meet or exceed established SLA and required metrics
- Be easy to do business with
- Support timely order entry, deliverables, and order status
