  • Ability to present information effectively to top management, boards of directors, and public groups.
  • Ability to calculate interest, proportions, percentages, and area, and apply basic mathematics and geometry concepts to practical situations.
  • Facility with Microsoft Excel and ability to use a financial calculator.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical, diagrammatic, and written form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
  • Physical mobility for standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to sit for up to 6 to 8 hours per day and safely lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds.
  • Mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable accounting staff.
  • Manage the corporate monthly close for all corporate cost centers and ensure internal and external monthly reporting is timely and accurate.
  • Administer program-based monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and reporting.
  • Administer concurrent public and private funding with various payment methods, compliance requirements, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
  • Extract accounting data to facilitate timely billing and collection of receivables and verify compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with the financial closeout of completed projects, resolve pending financial issues, and provide necessary information.
  • Prepare restricted and unrestricted fund reports for departments and management to track fund availability and utilization.
  • Prepare funder invoices, address funder inquiries, and perform funder invoice analysis.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, including recording invoices, deposits, donations, accounts receivable aging, write-offs, collection efforts, and cash projections.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and perform general ledger reclassifications.
  • Cross-train with Payroll, Properties, and staff accountants to provide support as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Controller.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Three years of full-cycle nonprofit fund accounting experience.
