Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Applicants must complete the required Community-Based Residential Facilities core trainings: Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid/Choking, and Resident Rights.
  • Applicants must maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act regulations and company policies.
  • Applicants must attend mandatory meetings and ongoing in-service opportunities and meet annual continuing-education requirements in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Health Services regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Assist residents and tenants with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and incontinence care, mobility and transfers, eating and hydration, and medication reminders when trained and delegated.
  • Encourage and assist residents in maintaining their independence and dignity.
  • Monitor and promptly report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or mental condition to supervisory staff.
  • Review and follow each resident’s or tenant’s Individualized Service Plan before assuming care responsibilities.
  • Complete accurate charting and record keeping.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including making beds, tidying rooms, laundry, and basic cleaning.
  • Assist with disinfecting and sanitation practices in resident areas.
  • Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns immediately.
  • Follow infection-control and standard-precaution procedures.
  • Assist the Dietary Department with meal setup, service, cleanup, and encouraging fluid and nutritional intake.
  • Encourage and escort residents to activities and assist with activity setup and resident engagement.
  • Partner with all departments to support smooth operations and resident satisfaction.
  • Mentor and train new caregiving staff by demonstrating tasks and best practices.
  • Coach and support new hires during onboarding and communicate trainee progress and development needs to supervisors.
  • Access resident information only as needed to provide care or complete job responsibilities and report suspected confidentiality or privacy breaches immediately.
  • Follow proper protocol during emergency situations.
  • Support a dignified, respectful, and caring atmosphere for residents, tenants, families, visitors, and fellow employees.
Desired Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with older adults or persons with disabilities is strongly preferred.
