Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant stormwater or water resources experience.
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet commitments, and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for open channel and storm sewer systems, detention and water quality facilities, drainage master plans and capital improvement programs, drainage impact analyses, and regional flood planning.
  • Conduct field investigations and data collection to support model and design development.
  • Develop and refine engineering models and designs under the guidance of licensed engineers.
  • Prepare technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve modeling workflows, design efficiency, and quality processes, and contribute ideas that enhance project delivery.
  • Support client communications, attend meetings, and contribute technical input under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Participate in quality control reviews, address review comments, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior staff as appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM, and/or InfoWorks.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager certification.
  • Experience with programming or scripting, such as Python, for data analysis, model or workflow automation, and result visualization.
  • Familiarity with Texas municipal drainage criteria.
