We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team, reporting to the VP of Product. This role combines hands-on senior full stack development with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a diverse team spanning full stack development, DevOps, and data science.
Manage and mentor a cross functional team
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to foster professional growth and career development
Identify training needs and implement strategies to enhance team skills and performance
Serve as a senior full stack developer, contributing to code development and review
Lead project planning and scoping initiatives
Collaborate with the product manager to help build product roadmaps, translating product direction into achievable sprint plans
Oversee the execution of engineering projects from inception to completion, applying agile project management processes
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Maintain strong communication with internal leaders, presenting project updates and technical recommendations
Interface with external partners to facilitate integrations and maintenance updates
Drive research and development initiatives for new designs, products, and processes
Ensure high standards of code quality, security, and performance across all projects
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a technology-driven environment
Proven experience deploying and maintaining resources on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
Strong full stack development skills with expertise in relevant programming languages and frameworks (including Python, Typescript, Node.js/Express, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL, Relational database design and administration, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Terraform, and Redis)
Ability to create and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, with an emphasis on seamless integration and service reliability
Experience managing multi-cloud environments using IaC tools.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic, ELK stack or Datadog for performance tracking, identifying bottlenecks and incident management.
Experience in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, multi-regional architectures capable of handling millions of requests per minute.
Experience using data science tools: R, pandas, scikit-learn
Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data integrity techniques
Experience with machine learning model development and frameworks (e.g. Pytorch, Huggingface, scikit-learn)
Understanding of and experience with statistical methods (e.g. A/B testing, hypothesis testing, experiment design)
Experience managing cross-functional teams, including DevOps and data science professionals
Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time
Experience with agile methodologies and sprint planning
Experience interfacing with clients, and a strong empathy for user experience, as well as familiarity with the customer lifecycle
Familiarity with ad operations and data product development is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance hands-on development work with management responsibilities
Strong leadership skills with a focus on team growth and mentorship
Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
