Senior Production and Material Planner
About the job
- An associate degree or higher is required.
- Relevant material-planning work experience in the mechanical and electronics industries is required.
- Fluent spoken English is required.
- Verify daily that system orders are released to suppliers accurately and on time, and track actual delivery performance.
- Calculate and control appropriate raw-material inventory levels, with close control of bulky and high-value items.
- Handle supplier incoming-material issues and provide early warning and mitigation for material-supply risks to prevent production shortages.
- Evaluate customer orders, respond with delivery dates, and ensure orders are completed on time.
- Develop and release daily production plans according to customer orders and production-leveling requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manage supplier performance.
- Negotiate and sign flexible supply and consignment contracts with suppliers.
- Analyze causes of low supplier performance, communicate with suppliers, and drive improvements.
- Manage and achieve KPIs for raw-material and finished-goods inventory turnover, production lead time, customer service level, and supply-chain cost.
- Manage materials affected by engineering changes to ensure a smooth transition between old and new versions.
- Support new-product development by coordinating raw-material and finished-goods packaging design and validation, supporting production-line layout and material and information-flow design, ensuring materials are available for all pilot-production stages, and completing sample orders and production ramp-up on schedule.
- Serve as the key user for SAP and EDI system modules; train users and resolve daily system-operation issues and parameter settings.
- Participate in continuous-improvement projects.
