Responsibilities
Report to the Substitute Coordinator at the beginning of the day to receive the class schedule and at the end of the day to provide a brief report.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Guide the learning process toward the curriculum goals and objectives indicated in the provided lesson plans for assigned lessons, units, or projects.
Provide the classroom teacher with written feedback on lesson results and student behavior issues.
Employ instructional methods appropriate for meeting the unique learning needs of all students.
Perform duties normally required of an absent teacher, such as recess duty, lunch duty, and hall monitoring.
Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
Know the emergency evacuation routes for assigned classrooms.
Know and follow school procedures and regulations.
Leave the classroom neat and orderly at the end of the day by straightening chairs and tables and clearing whiteboards.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Substitute Coordinator.

Summary of Position:
Responsibilities include teaching assigned sections of courses. The goal is for the substitute teacher to provide students with a safe and effective learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and to provide students with meaningful and appropriate instruction in accordance with the lesson plans provided. This position is a non-exempt, hourly position paid in 2, 4, 6, or 8 hour increments depending on time working daily. The employee will be able to work for 10 months of the year.

At the end of the day, leaves the classroom in a neat and orderly fashion. Straightens chairs, tables, clears white boards, etc.
