Requirements
  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • Be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Have Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage.
  • Experience and certifications relevant to working with this patient population are an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and care planning for individuals with complex chronic conditions, including chronic fatigue syndrome, environmental illnesses such as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, fibromyalgia, and post-COVID conditions.
  • Examine patients and take their histories.
  • Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures.
  • Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Act as a patient's advocate.
  • Consult with other medical practitioners.
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other diseases according to Nova Scotia Public Health requirements.
