Requirements
  • A college diploma and at least 5 years of experience in the water treatment field, or 10 years of experience in construction and/or commissioning.
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, equipment and process startup related to water treatment systems, including Reverse Osmosis, Clarifiers, Thickeners, and Pressure Filters.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
  • Basic knowledge of water treatment chemistry and the ability to communicate that information to others.
  • Hands-on electrical experience, including reading and interpreting drawings, electrical panels, junction boxes, cabling, and grounding practices.
  • Familiarity with setup, installation, configuration, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation used in water treatment processes.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to plan multiple priorities and focus on the most important ones.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, and situations.
  • The physical ability to perform the stated duties, including standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • The ability to complete pre-employment drug screening as a condition of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise erection and construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of a water treatment plant.
  • Act as the construction liaison between design engineering and construction during water treatment plant erection.
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.
  • Manage outside vendors and suppliers to ensure services and supplies meet project specifications and performance requirements.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and log sheets to document and monitor equipment during storage, installation, and initial operations.
  • Develop and execute installation, assembly, and storage plans.
  • Perform quality inspections of electromechanical and rotating equipment with clients and client-designated representatives.
  • Maintain safety standards so executed work reflects technical requirements.
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future outage reference.
  • Resolve alignment issues and determine plumb adjustment figures using plane geometry and chemistry formulas.
  • Lead or assist customers with electrical and instrumentation requirements supporting commissioning, startup spares, and operating and maintenance practices.
  • Participate in customer Factory Acceptance Tests and related control systems reviews.
  • Perform on-site programming for water treatment control systems and assist with electrical installation and troubleshooting.
  • Work with Automation and Electrical and Instrumentation leaders on project execution and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in commissioning, construction, or services.
  • A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Oil and gas experience.
  • Additional hands-on electrical experience, including reading and interpreting drawings, electrical panels, and water treatment equipment.
  • Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
