Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of HR programs across mergers and acquisitions, Total Rewards, and cross-functional HR projects.
  • Maintain a current view of portfolio health, including risks, dependencies, milestones, and decisions, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Own project documentation, decision logs, status updates, and stakeholder communications end to end.
  • Take on new workstreams as portfolio needs change, moving between strategic and tactical work.
  • Serve as the primary project manager for people-side mergers and acquisitions activity, including due diligence support, integration planning, Day 1 readiness, and post-close execution.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and HR leadership to manage sensitive timelines and information with discretion and precision.
  • Build and maintain the mergers and acquisitions playbook.
  • Use artificial intelligence tools, including Claude and similar tools, for drafting synthesis, status reporting, meeting preparation, and other work where they improve speed or quality.
  • Identify opportunities for artificial intelligence to reduce manual effort in project management workflows and proactively bring forward ideas.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, audience-tailored executive updates, presentations, and briefings.
  • Represent the PMO in senior forums and facilitate leadership-level decision-making when needed.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR leaders, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Design and execute change management approaches for programs that affect how employees or HR teams work.
  • Anticipate resistance to change, plan for it, and adjust approaches.
  • Partner with HR business partners and communications teams to implement organizational changes effectively.
Desired Qualifications

  • Formal Program Management certifications such as PMP or PgMP, Change Management certification such as Prosci, or equivalent practical methodology mastery.

Yahoo raises $1.6B with 11% bond yield as Apollo-backed firm refinances debt

Yahoo has raised $1.6 billion in high-yield financing to refinance debt from Apollo Global Management's acquisition of the company. The deal comprises a $700 million term loan B priced at 6.5 percentage points over the US benchmark and $900 million in junk bonds due in 2031 at an 11% yield. The 11% yield represents one of the highest-yielding corporate debt offerings this year, significantly above the 7.2% average for existing B-rated bonds. The refinancing replaces loans from Apollo's 2021 $5 billion buyout of Yahoo from Verizon Communications, which were priced more favourably at 5.5 percentage points over benchmark. Moody's Ratings noted concerns about Yahoo's reliance on desktop traffic and competition from larger players in search advertising, though the deal attracted strong investor interest amid broader high-yield issuance.

Executives at Yahoo!, which owned a 40 percent stake in the Chinese e-commerce giant, were under the gun from their own investors to cut corporate debt and extract value from their prized asset, and they wanted to sell down their stake. The problem: The Alibaba executives were struggling to find buyers.
