It brews a range of beers—year-round, seasonal, special releases, and single-batch brews—and also makes cider and hard seltzer. The company differentiates itself by its long history, committed hands-on process, and belief that their beers have soul, aiming to be the best beers in Texas. The overarching goal is to brew world-class beers and deliver them to customers as fresh as possible, making them the best beers in Texas.

What believers are saying

  • September 2026 Pumpkinator and Oktoberfest events keep the brand visible through peak beer season.
  • Juice Train IPA is now a year-round offering, expanding a proven flavor platform.
  • Open seven days weekly with free tours and brunch drives direct-to-consumer traffic and margins.

What critics are saying

  • Texas craft beer remains crowded; Saint Arnold now fights larger regional IPA and cider brands.
  • A product-heavy calendar signals dependence on constant novelty to defend taps and grocery slots.
  • No recent layoffs or lawsuits surfaced, but single-site Houston concentration creates hurricane disruption risk.

What makes Saint Arnold Brewing Company unique

  • Texas’ oldest craft brewery, shipping its first keg on June 9, 1994.
  • Houston campus at 2000 Lyons Avenue combines brewery, restaurant, beer garden, and tours.
  • Year-round anchors like Lawnmower, Amber Ale, and Juice Train build shelf recognition statewide.

3 Houston breweries earn medals at prestigious Great American Beer Festival.

3 Houston breweries earn medals at prestigious Great American Beer Festival. Oct 12, 2026 | 4:05 pm Three Houston area breweries have a reason to raise a glass after securing hardware in the nation's top contest for brewers and craft aficionados. This past weekend, Misfit Brewing, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, and No Label Brewing Company each scored medals at this year's 2026 Great American Beer Festival amongst the more than 7,000 entries from across the country. The winning beer categories run the gamut in both approach and style while also recognizing the creativity of some of Houston's most acclaimed breweries. Based in Cypress, Misfit's Sludge Factory is a thick-bodied Imperial Chocolate stout conditioned with Ghanaian cocoa nibs. Opened in 2021, the award-winning beer is a hallmark of the unconventional styles that Misfit has become known for. In addition to its GABF win, the beer also received two additional awards in 2026: a Silver medal in the Texas Craft Brewer's Cup and a Bronze placement in US Open Beer Championship. The 26-year-old Lawnmower, technically considered a Kölsch-style blonde, is considered a workhorse of the Houston craft scene. Along with many other accolades from various beers over the years, Lawnmower in particular is no stranger to the GABF judges' table. Since its release in 2000, the Saint Arnold team has racked up 3 previous Gold Medals and two Bronze showings in the Kolsch, German Style Kolsch, and Golden or Blonde Ale categories, making this year's win its sixth medal. No Label's Perpetual Peace is initially brewed as a dark wee heavy/scottish ale and then aged in rye barrels. The beer also has a storied past by picking up consecutive World Beer Cup gold medals in 2024 and 2025, followed by GABF silver medals in 2025. Held last weekend at the outdoor Levitt Pavilion in Denver's Ruby Hill Park, the Great American Beer Festival drew more than 7,000 beers from 1,300 breweries, all of which competed in 112 medal categories. That variety makes the festival a highly regarded proving ground for some of the nation's best craft breweries. The competition portion of the festival evaluates each brewery's submissions blindly, using only sensory methodology and category style guidelines. Brewers, sensory experts, and other industry professions are generally tapped as judges for the competition. While the festival itself originally began in 1982, the competition portion did not begin until 1987. The festival originated at the Harvest House hotel in Boulder, Colorado with just 24 breweries pouring 47 beers for a crowd of 800. The festival slowly outgrew its humble beginnings and was relocated to Denver in 1984. At its peak in 2018, the festival boasted 62,000 attendees across four separate tasting sessions at the massive Colorado Convention center in downtown Denver. The awards for these brewmasters represent a significant win given the bumpy and unpredictable road of the post-covid craft environment. For Misfit, Saint Arnold, and No Label, hopefully it provides an additional avenue for more customers to step up to the bar. Houstonians had to wait seven years for a second location of Ramen Tatsu-ya, but the Austin-based restaurant's third Houston outpost is coming much more quickly. The restaurant's Meyerland location will open on Saturday, October 31, in the former Boston Market location at 4672 Beechnut St. Known for its signature tonkotsu broth, which takes up to three days to prepare, chefs Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya Matsumoto opened the original Ramen Tatsu-ya in 2012. It quickly earned wide acclaim, including a spot on Bon Appetit's list of America's Best New Restaurants of 2013. Since then, the restaurant has grown to six locations in Austin and two in Houston - a Montrose store that opened in 2017 and a Town & Country outpost that debuted in December 2025. More could be on the way. "There's certainly room and good trade area dynamics to support more Ramen Tatsu-Ya locations in Houston," CEO Todd Coerver writes in an email. "I have no magic number or timeline in mind for such growth. A lot will depend on the performance of the newer locations we are opening in Houston. Community reaction will dictate the answer to how many, how fast." In addition to its noodles, Ramen Tatsu-ya also serves small plates such as its signature Sweet and Sour Yodas (aka, Brussels sprouts), karaage, and gyoza. They can be paired with a full range of drinks, including beer, sake, frozens, and non-alcoholic sips such as lemongrass-cucumber limeade and strawberry-yuzu lemonade. The company operates three other concepts: Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya, a casual patio bar; Tiki Tatsu-Ya, a tiki bar and restaurant; and Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, a Texas-inspired izakaya that holds a Bib Gourmand designation in the Michelin Guide. Could they be headed to Houston, too? "I wouldn't rule out the possibility for a version of Kemuri to expand to Houston one day. But we are really just focused on Ramen Tatsu-Ya at the moment," he writes. Ramen Tatsu-ya will celebrate its Bellaire grand opening with free t-shirts for the 25 customers, the chance to win free ramen for a year, a free popsicle with purchase for anyone in costume, and a DJ set from 6-8 pm. It will also give out treats to trick-or-treaters. "We're excited to bring a new location to the Bellaire area," Coerver added in a statement. "And having our grand opening on Halloween gives us a chance to really ratchet up the fun!" Ramen Tatsu-ya is only the latest addition to the Bellaire/Meyerland area. The second location of Tex-Mex restaurant Candente opened in late 2025. Pudgy's Fine Cookies and Underground Creamery will open their second location across the street from Ramen Tatsu-ya this Sunday, October 25. This Family-Friendly Brewery Is A Great Place To Visit In Houston

Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston is Texas’ oldest craft brewery and a really fun place to spend an afternoon, whether you’re with friends or even when you’ve got the kids in tow. As a mom of twins, I’m always on the lookout for places where parents can drink and talk while kids can safely run around a play. But more than that, I love an establishment where kids and families are actually welcome. Saint Arnold, with its expansive beer garden, lawn games and a huge food menu that includes pizza, is a great place where everyone can hang out and enjoy the day.SAINT ARNOLD BREWING COMPANY IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. RONNIE KOENIGWhen I stopped in, I tried their “Best Sellers” beer flight. When visiting a new-to-me brewery, I always want to sample as many craft beers as possible and so I’ll always start by ordering a flight if it’s an option
