Editor's Note: The 2026 class of America's Safety Companies will be recognized Tuesday, September 22, during a live webinar beginning at 2:00 PM (EDT). More information about the webinar can be found at the registration site for How to Create and Sustain a World-Class Safety Culture: Insights from America's Safest Companies of 2026. Enerfab Power & Industrial LLC. Cincinnati, OH. 1,500 employees | 45 sites | 60 EHS professionals. How's this for a corporate strategy: "We believe that no job is so important that we cannot take the time to perform it safely." That's the mindset at Enerfab Power & Industrial, a fabrication, construction and maintenance company celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. On its corporate website, the company proudly notes that it has won 145 safety awards since 2001; that number is now 146, as Enerfab joins the ranks of America's Safest Companies winners. "Our organization's success in safety is rooted in something deeper than policies or procedures - it comes from a culture built on presence, ownership, and genuine care for people," observes Calvin Clark, Enerfab's vice president, safety, health and quality. Sponsored recommendations. To illustrate his point, Clark cites a specific safety practice involving corporate leaders. "Any corporate team member traveling to one of our jobsites is required to complete a Management Safety Observation. During this visit, the individual selects a craft employee and engages them in a brief, structured conversation about the work they are performing that day. The purpose of these questions is to create a meaningful interaction - showing that leadership took the time to be present, listen and understand the employee's tasks, hazards and needs. It reinforces that safety is personal, and that every employee's voice matters." When it comes to safety equipment, Enerfab doesn't skimp on the quality. "We invest heavily in the tools and systems that support safe work," Clark says. "From leading-edge fall protection that exceeds OSHA requirements to Level 4 cut-resistant, impact-rated gloves, we consistently choose the higher standard." Enerfab is quite prolific when it comes to making a business case for safety. Clark cites several specific ways that the company leverages its safety culture as a significant contributor to the bottom line: - "We tie safety directly to productivity and quality. Safe work is organized work. When hazards are removed and expectations are clear, crews work more efficiently, make fewer mistakes, and deliver higher-quality results. - "We use data to show the financial impact. We track leading and lagging indicators, cost of incidents, rework, schedule delays, and labor impacts. The numbers consistently show that preventing one incident costs far less than responding to one. - "We highlight customer expectations and market advantage. Many of our customers evaluate contractors based on safety performance. Strong safety results help us win work, maintain preferred status, and build long-term partnerships. - "We emphasize risk reduction and business continuity. Incidents disrupt operations, damage equipment, delay projects and strain customer relationships. A strong safety program protects the business from avoidable risk and keeps projects moving. - "We connect safety to culture and retention. A company that protects its people keeps its people. Reduced turnover, higher morale and stronger engagement all have measurable business value. - "We show leadership presence as a cost saver. When leaders are present, engaged and reinforcing expectations, issues are caught early - before they become injuries, delays, or expensive fixes." - DB Editor-in-Chief / senior director of content. 'AI plays in disguise' - analyst highlights Quanta Services (PWR) as a promising AI power stock.

'AI plays in disguise' - analyst highlights Quanta Services (PWR) as a promising AI power stock. Published on august 19, 2026 at 10:18 am by fahad saleem in news, stock analysis. Chad Dillard of Bernstein said in a recent program on CNBC that Quanta Services (NYSE:PWR) is an "800-pound gorilla" in high-voltage transmission lines. He was responding to a CNBC host who asked him to discuss "AI plays in disguise" beyond the major names everyone is aware of. "I think we need to focus on what the bottlenecks are, right? It's power and labor," Dillard said. "On the power side, like you just said, you know, Caterpillar, it's an obvious one, power generation. But there's also another way to improve power, and that's by raising the voltage. And I'm talking about high voltage transmission lines. I'm talking about raising the voltage in data centers. ( Quanta Services) They're an 800-lb gorilla basically in the room." Quanta Services (NYSE:PWR) can benefit from the coming wave of AI-related power demand because it's one of the few companies big enough to do the actual building when utilities spend money to expand and upgrade the grid. Quanta makes money by constructing the power lines, substations, and grid infrastructure the US needs, work that puts it right in the middle of the buildout. In the recent quarter, revenue jumped about 40% year over year, and the company raised its full-year guidance for revenue, earnings per share, and cash flow. Bulls also point to Quanta's recent acquisitions: Phalcon, Enerfab, Percheron, and PSD. Quanta expects these deals to add roughly 3 to 4% to its revenue in 2026. The bull case is that these purchases add skilled workers, fabrication capacity, and permitting support, giving Quanta more control over the bottlenecks that slow projects down. The acquisitions will directly benefit the company in the long run. Phalcon brings about 4,100 workers and over 400,000 square feet of fabrication and modular facilities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Enerfab adds roughly 2,100 workers and 250,000 square feet of fabrication space, covering electrical, mechanical, and maintenance work. Percheron handles the front-end stuff that trips up big projects: land title, right-of-way, surveying, and engineering design. PSD adds engineering, manufacturing, and prebuilt substation buildings in Australia. Valuation isn't cheap. Quanta trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of about 41.6, roughly double its sector median of 20.8. Its forward EV/EBITDA sits around 26.8 versus a sector median of 12.5, more than double. If the selloff in AI and power stocks deepens, or investors pull money out of anything tied to data center spending, Quanta's multiple could shrink. While we acknowledge the risk and potential of PWR as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and doing so within a shorter time frame. If you are looking for an AI stock that is more promising than PWR and that has 10,000% upside potential, check out our report about the cheapest AI stock.
