Requirements
  • Degrees should be in Architecture or a closely related discipline. Foreign equivalents to U.S. degrees are acceptable.
  • Candidates must possess one of the following categories of acceptable academic credentials: a combination of a professional bachelor’s and a master’s degree; or a terminal professional master’s degree; or a doctorate
  • Uniquely qualified candidates without the minimum academic credentials – who hold a professional license in architecture, exemplify exceptional professional experience, and present widely-recognized professional work – will also be considered.
  • Candidates must have classroom or practical experience using advanced digital software and technologies related to the discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Develop critical insights into computational design and its integration into architectural design processes.
  • Teach in studio, lecture and seminar courses emphasizing computational design at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Hold teaching responsibilities that align with advanced computational design tools and processes within architectural design studios, as well as seminar classes and lecture classes (special consideration for such teaching).
  • Contribute to curriculum development and integration of computational design into the program’s design approach and core values.
  • Engage in activities related to equitable and inclusive learning and teaching environment and affirming diverse viewpoints as part of teaching and service.
Desired Qualifications
  • Candidates with a doctorate degree within the position’s area of scholarship are preferred.
  • Experience in research and teaching in the area of advanced computational design.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching emerging computational design tools and processes within the context of architectural design studios, as well as seminar classes and lecture classes.
  • Portfolio of scholarly inquiry and/or outstanding design work demonstrating a focus on the intersection of design and technology; evidence of successful, innovative, and collaborative work.
