Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Gas or diesel mechanic experience is preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English for work orders and manuals is required.
  • The ability to use computers and vendor-specific programs for Caterpillar, Waukesha, Ariel, and Murphy equipment, as well as Internet Explorer and Outlook, is required.
  • The ability to complete and submit company documentation accurately and promptly is required.
  • The ability to respond to after-hours requests on an on-call basis is required.
  • The ability to work 12–16 hours straight while managing rest during time off is required.
  • The ability to regularly lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
  • Current safety orientation and compliance with personal protective equipment requirements are required.
Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain gathering-system compressor stations and associated midstream equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Complete daily equipment documentation, housekeeping, throughput optimization, and minor maintenance on engines, compressors, separators, generators, flares, dehydration units, vapor recovery units, and coolers.
  • Locate pipelines around compressor stations and inspect, maintain, and repair basic pipeline, compression, and measurement-facility equipment.
  • Work with craft personnel to resolve equipment and system problems in a timely manner.
  • Operate compressor stations that may include Caterpillar and Waukesha engines driving Ariel compressors.
  • Troubleshoot abnormal operations and coordinate and monitor assigned contractor activities.
  • Identify emergency situations and initiate emergency-response procedures.
  • Complete and maintain required reports, logs, daily records, EAM records, and shift reports.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment as needed to maintain optimum availability and efficiency.
  • Read and record natural gas, condensate, and production water or brine received, delivered, and consumed.
  • Record operational temperature, pressure, and runtime-hour readings.
  • Monitor and report compressor-unit availability.
  • Ensure field equipment operates under current emissions guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of company, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA and DOT requirements, and document required regulatory activities.
  • Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity-management and regulatory tasks on oil or liquids pipelines.
  • Monitor activity around pipelines and facilities and respond as necessary to protect system integrity.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform cleanup associated with field operations and corrosion-control activities.
  • Communicate safety and environmental concerns to client supervisors and provide potential corrective-action solutions.
  • Follow and promote good housekeeping practices and properly maintain equipment and vehicles.
  • Follow the company's fatigue program.
  • Provide work progress for the next evaluation period and participate in 90-day employee evaluations.
