  • Expertise developing scalable web applications.
  • Some proficiency in Rust, Java, .NET, or Go, and experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Scripting experience using PowerShell, Ruby, Python, shell, or other common scripting languages, including using AI tools to help construct scripts.

  • Ability to switch context across different technologies and complex environments.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-priority issue resolution.
  • Good judgment about when to trust an AI-generated diagnosis and when to verify it manually.
  • Desire to learn and upskill.
  • Must be based in Auckland; applicants elsewhere must plan to relocate to Auckland.
  • Must include a cover letter; applications without one will not be reviewed.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside core development teams to design cloud deployment architectures on Azure.
  • Lead provisioning of deployment environments, including servers, services, and networking, and communicate with technical client stakeholders.
  • Ensure security, scalability, supportability, and performance are implemented in solution architectures.
  • Assist development teams in building continuous integration and deployment pipelines using toolsets selected for the technology stack.
  • Carry out scheduled software releases with development teams where full automation has not yet been achieved.
  • Configure monitoring and alerting tools and integrate them into support desk software.
  • Provide technical assistance with support ticket triaging and troubleshooting, verifying symptoms, impact, and responsibility for further investigation.
  • Participate in diagnosing and resolving reactive support issues during business hours and on a shared after-hours on-call basis.
  • Complete incident reports with recommendations for ongoing mitigation, and implement mitigations with core development teams.
  • Monitor incident progress and communicate status updates to clients.
  • Design and implement proactive continuous-improvement programs for solutions to minimize support issues.
  • Automate recurring tasks rather than repeatedly performing them manually.
  • Document system architecture and configuration and deployment processes with AI assistance, and share technical knowledge with support developers across multiple teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Some experience with AWS and Bamboo or Bitbucket Pipelines tools.
