  • Nine years of progressive work experience and four years of management experience are required.
Responsibilities
  • Review reconciliations of operating cash and investment accounts with assistance from Treasury, along with restricted cash and net position reconciliation. Ensure investment rollforwards are updated monthly and consult with Treasury and Strategic Planning teams on significant fluctuations for financial ratios such as days cash on hand. Monitor the monthly classification of restricted cash as cash or investments and its associated spending between capital projects and major programs. Maintain and update workpapers.

  • Reconcile inventory balances monthly, coordinating and gathering input from Supply Chain. Identify and justify large fluctuations between perpetual and periodic inventories, and partner with Pharmacy to maintain quarterly cycle counts. Coordinate year-end counts among Accounting, Supply Chain, and Pharmacy, and reconcile count results to the general ledger.
  • Analyze and review patient accounts receivable for MUHA and affiliated companies, including unapplied cash, pharmacy, and value-based care. Regularly review the accounts receivable module, analyze variances and fluctuations among patient revenue components, and justify final cash-to-net balances each month. Review the quality of outstanding accounts receivable, including payer behavior changes such as denials and non-covered charges, and fluctuations in the value of services in accounts receivable. Communicate findings to leadership. Review pharmacy accounts receivable and revenues for each market.
  • Record and review non-patient accounts receivable monthly, including grants activity. Maintain regular communication with other departments to minimize material adjustments and ensure aged items are addressed promptly. Work closely with the Grants Team and University to reconcile sub-awards and supporting documents in preparation for the annual Single Audit.
  • Review the cash flow statement monthly on a consolidated and market level. Collaborate with Reporting and Capital teams on month-to-month balance changes. Summarize and organize workpapers on a consolidated basis and by market and/or facility as needed. Support and tick-mark balances and transaction-level detail with appropriate documentation.
