Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience leading complex, senior-stakeholder client programs, such as enterprise deployment leadership, artificial intelligence or machine learning deployment, complex implementation, or program leadership at a high-growth software company, or comparable client-facing program leadership.
  • Experience taking an artificial intelligence, machine learning, data, or other complex technical product from ambiguous problem framing through production use and adoption.
  • Technical fluency in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise systems, including mapping workflows and data, reasoning about integrations, evaluations, model behavior, security, and production constraints, and pressure-testing delivery plans with engineers.
  • A rigorous operating toolkit including structured problem-solving, hypothesis-driven workplans, synthesis under ambiguity, managing a team and a client simultaneously, and delivering difficult messages early and constructively.
  • Experience serving as a trusted day-to-day counterpart to senior executives, elected officials, agency heads, and career public servants.
  • Ability to distinguish configuration requests from product insights and collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams.
  • Ability to create deployment playbooks and processes while maintaining high standards and shipping initial process versions.
  • Clear, decision-oriented communication across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Willingness to travel 30–50% and work inside government buildings.
Responsibilities
  • Personally lead 2–4 of the company’s most complex government deployments while overseeing the broader deployment portfolio as the team grows.
  • Engage before close to de-risk delivery by shaping scope, success criteria, stakeholder maps, resourcing, data and integration dependencies, acceptance criteria, and a customer-approved workplan.
  • Translate agency workflows and desired outcomes into a minimum viable product, technical requirements, sequencing decisions, and a delivery roadmap for product and engineering execution.
  • Define a value case and learning agenda for each deployment and product line, including impact hypotheses, baselines, adoption measures, and success key performance indicators.
  • Run multi-workstream delivery with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, weekly operating cadence, status synthesis, and early escalation.
  • Protect the critical path by surfacing risks, making scope/speed/quality trade-offs, and leading decision-ready executive readouts.
  • Drive adoption and change management through stakeholder onboarding, training, operating-model changes, and sustained post-launch use.
  • Build relationships with mayors, city managers, chief information officers, agency heads, program leaders, and frontline users.
  • Turn field evidence into reusable product capabilities, evaluation patterns, playbooks, templates, and staffing models.
  • Run deployment reviews and product-feedback cadences that convert customer signals into roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with sales on renewal and expansion by translating deployment outcomes into the next high-value use case while maintaining scope discipline.
  • Navigate security, procurement, legal, compliance, and systems-of-record constraints in public-sector deployments.
  • Hire, develop, and manage deployment leads as deployment volume grows.
Desired Qualifications
  • Public-sector delivery experience in government technology or civic technology.
  • Familiarity with government procurement, security reviews, and contracting norms.
  • Experience deploying artificial intelligence or machine learning products.
  • Experience hiring and managing delivery teams.
