Requirements
  • At least 5 years of recent clinical experience relating to Core Measures or the assigned patient populations to be overseen.
  • An active New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Strong analytical skills for developing, implementing, and monitoring outcome-based reporting systems.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control procedures and practices within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques and performance improvement methods and tools, including Rapid Cycle Plan-Do-Study-Act and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical pathways or guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to write reports containing technical information.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to oversee the work of non-clinical data abstractors and assist with their education regarding core-measures data abstraction.
  • Time-management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask unrelated activities.
  • Ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor an outcome-based reporting system for high-risk diagnoses, patient groups, physicians, and specific care processes.
  • Prepare quality reports related to the care of specific patient populations or hospital clinical departments and for regulatory bodies in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Produce data reports related to specific patient populations for hospital clinical departments and regulatory bodies in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Develop and present education programs and workshops.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with performance improvement concepts and/or Core Measure indicators.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse certification, especially Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
  • Effective communication skills, diplomacy, and the ability to work with all disciplines and levels.
  • Team-building and leadership skills.
