Galaxy says Bitcoin's bear market ended in June, but $254M ETF outflows suggest caution

Galaxy Digital's head of firmwide research, Alex Thorn, says Bitcoin's bear market ended in June. In an October 26, 2026 report, he argued Bitcoin has entered an accumulation phase, in which patient buyers absorb coins from exhausted sellers. Price has not followed. Bitcoin trades at $80,543, 36.1% below its October 6, 2025 peak of $126,080. Its June 30 close of $58,566 was the year's lowest. Thorn cites the 50-week moving average, fewer coins moving from long-dormant wallets, and the timing of the low. Fresh money looks scarce. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $253.5 million in net outflows from September 28 to October 26, and the Coinbase Premium stayed negative in October. A close below the 200-day average of $72,990 would suggest the bear market persists.

Galaxy Digital stock jumps 7% as Q3 profit hits $323M and EPS of $0.66 beats estimates

Galaxy Digital walks away from Helios II deal, launches $200M buyback as Bitcoin rebounds 40%

Galaxy Digital said a 40% rebound in Bitcoin prices lifted client activity and its technology investments in the third quarter of 2026. The firm is pivoting toward AI data centres and on-chain finance. Helios Phase I now brings in about $80 million in leasing revenue per quarter. Galaxy walked away from a Helios II leasing deal in late summer, saying tighter power markets made the asset more valuable and that it wants investment-grade tenants. It expects to exit 2027 with an annualised leasing run rate of $80 million to $150 million. Energisation for Helios II should begin in mid-2028. Galaxy approved a $200 million share repurchase, saying its stock trades well below intrinsic value. It plans to cover a $445 million exchangeable note due in December 2026 from existing liquidity if refinancing terms are poor.
