Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical training or experience.
  • Five years of Project Management, Construction Management, Project Engineering, or Commissioning Management experience, with eight years of commissioning/start-up experience for electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency using Google G Suite.
  • Willingness to travel 75–100%.
  • Availability to work typical hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with work at any time or on any day as business needs require.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test is required for employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide general management of electrical and/or specialty systems quality assurance and quality control and commissioning scopes of work.
  • Manage commissioning and startup schedules.
  • Develop the quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review outgoing quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning estimates with the Estimating Department to ensure accuracy.
  • Properly utilize internal functional groups and monitor progress of each project deliverable.
  • Develop the quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning safety plan.
  • Involve internal safety departments to ensure a complete and client-approved safety plan.
  • Work with the construction project manager to ensure startup and operational procedures are executed safely and comply with client specifications.
  • Coordinate with the client and all affected parties on day-to-day startup and commissioning activities.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance, quality control, commissioning, equipment, coordination, scheduling, staffing, and project manager meetings.
  • Manage all quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning issue logs pertinent to the project, and coordinate with affected or responsible parties to mitigate and clear issues.
  • Coordinate with third-party testing and commissioning agencies to ensure proper coverage during commissioning and startup procedures.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting and selection, employee relations, and other topics related to direct reports.
  • Coach and develop managerial talent, and select and train those individuals.
  • Create a supportive environment, motivate and instruct employees, and share positive and negative feedback constructively.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the electrical construction trade.
  • Experience leading commissioning and startup activities for construction projects exceeding $25 million in contract value.
  • Relevant industry experience in Mission Critical, Industrial, or Commercial environments.
