Requirements
  • At least 5 years of warehouse operations experience and progressive hands-on supervisory or management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with a strong focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations.
  • Required experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work varying schedules to learn and support the various warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor employee performance and take necessary steps to ensure the daily plan is achievable and met by all warehouse departments.
  • Manage the warehouse supervisors, receivers, selectors, and loaders of the assigned distribution center.
  • Ensure orders are selected and trucks are loaded for on-time dispatch of all routes.
  • Continuously evaluate procedures and staff performance and make changes to improve efficiencies.
  • Counsel, record, and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Partner with Transportation to address driver concerns about load quality and OS&D.
  • Interview, select, and train selectors and supervisors to maintain the staffing level necessary to run the shift efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety and selection procedures.
  • Continuously train and promote the safe operation of all material-handling equipment.
  • Communicate with warehouse associates to ensure safety, organization, and cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Maintain and present production and service-metric performance reports to upper management as needed.
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
  • Maintain P&L responsibility for the assigned distribution center’s warehouse operation.
  • Execute operations based on the daily case volume.
  • Partner with and establish strong working relationships with other departments that support Operations.
  • Supervise warehouse associates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Previous experience in a food-distribution environment.
  • Financial acumen with previous P&L responsibility.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience using voice-selection applications, such as Vocollect.
  • Experience with Manhattan warehouse management systems.
