Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Three to seven or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering project management is required, including direct experience in metalworking factories serving defense, energy, or aerospace sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks computer-aided design is required.
  • Strong experience with specification writing, vendor management, construction and installation oversight, budget control, and integration of utilities and support systems is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work as a hands-on project leader and team collaborator in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, manage multiple stakeholders, and proactively solve problems.
  • The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds in a gritty manufacturing shop environment with heat and noise.
  • The candidate must be a U.S. person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end projects for the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of large-scale, high-complexity production lines in metalworking factories supporting defense, energy, and aerospace programs.
  • Develop detailed engineering specifications and use SolidWorks computer-aided design for layout design, custom tooling, fixtures, and integration of utilities and support systems, including power, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, compressed air, and water.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and suppliers through requests for proposals, selection, contract negotiation, and performance oversight.
  • Provide on-site construction and installation oversight to ensure projects meet specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Control project budgets, schedules, and resources through tracking and reporting to deliver projects on time and within target costs.
  • Write and maintain technical specifications, drawings, and documentation packages for equipment, facility modifications, and process implementations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to qualify and ramp new production capabilities.
  • Drive risk mitigation, change management, and continuous improvement in demanding manufacturing environments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with large, high-technological-complexity production lines.
  • Knowledge of defense and aerospace standards, including MIL-STD, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and AS9100.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project and Primavera, or Project Management Professional certification.
  • Background in utilities and support system design and installation for complex production environments.
  • Additional computer-aided design or simulation experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
