Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or two years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant certifications and/or proficiencies may be required, with target completion within 90 days following formal training.
  • Foundational experience analyzing business needs, documenting functional specifications, and aligning technical solutions.
  • Ability to use process maps, workflow diagrams, and data analytics to support system design, training, and problem resolution.
  • Foundational skills in system troubleshooting and testing.
  • Written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information clearly.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate within teams, adapt to system changes, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping, as well as sitting for extended periods.
Responsibilities
  • Support the design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of software systems.
  • Assist with system modifications, implementations, testing, error correction, user security management, enhancements, data import/export, and basic reporting.
  • Work with business partners to gather requirements and align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Help define project scope, deliverables, schedules, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, and contingency measures.
  • Coordinate project communications, meetings, documentation, status updates, and issue resolution.
  • Provide classroom, one-on-one, and remediation training and ongoing support to end users.
  • Assess user readiness and training needs and contribute to curriculum and training-material development.
  • Expand technical knowledge through training, workshops, research, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with other teams.
  • Travel to other WVUHS facilities or affiliated sites as needed for implementations, training, and support.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with applicable business, clinical, imaging, or web application systems, including advanced workflows focused on efficiency and optimization.
  • Proficiency in systems administration and providing strategic insights and operational improvements.
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings and advanced system implementations supporting patient-care processes.
  • Understanding of clinical data management and healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based healthcare applications and web services.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools and data analysis for actionable insights and decision-making.
