Requirements
  • Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, and a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory, and survey techniques.
  • Experience organizing technical data in a neat and accurate manner and familiarity with the Construction Specifications Institute specification system.
  • Strong curiosity for technical details of building design and construction.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain a cooperative attitude in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and handle frequent interruptions from phone calls and questions about work in progress.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with trade and craft personnel in a field-work setting.
  • Ability to collaborate with personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to communicate laws, ordinances, plans, regulations, protocols, directives, and standard operating procedures related to project scope in English.
  • Ability to lift or manipulate 50 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry or push it 50–100 feet.
  • Ability to regularly bend or twist to examine project work.
  • Ability to regularly position oneself in a kneeling, crouching, or crawling position to examine project work.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine the best method for accomplishing desired results.
  • Ability to work stationary and mobile periods at the work location, including in an office and on a construction site.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to operate a computer and office productivity machinery and use hands, fingers, and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position materials.
  • Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to work near loud equipment more than 50% of the time and wear hearing protection as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating inspections of trade contractor installations.
  • Assist with and coordinate pre-installation meetings.
  • Facilitate Quality Assurance/Quality Control field reviews.
  • Interface with Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction teams regarding field model installation.
  • Interface with commissioning personnel to ensure documentation deliverables.
  • Interpret design and construction documents and technical manuals and quantify materials required for construction.
  • Write and publish meeting minutes.
  • Review and process quality plans and trade certifications to verify accuracy and compliance.
  • Review inspection plans, project specifications, and industry standards and apply them to verify field installation.
  • Research, learn, and apply technical details for project procedures and installations.
  • Use a model viewer to verify field installation and ensure areas are prepared for upcoming installation.
  • Review, understand, and validate requests for information for current project work.
  • Assist the document controller with organization, distribution, and accuracy of project control software.
  • Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery as required.
  • Communicate with customers and coworkers in office and job-site settings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, Hexagon, Bluebeam, and other quality or commissioning software.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, with an emphasis on Building Science, or an equivalent degree or field-work experience.
  • Educational background in materials and methods of construction.
