Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and Medical Technology (MT) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent are required.
  • Candidates must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.
  • Candidates must have four years of laboratory experience as an MLT/HT (internal CLS2), or two years of laboratory experience as a MT/HTL (internal CLS3); equivalent combinations of education and experience are accepted.
  • Candidates must be registered with ASCP, or eligible for registry, as a Medical Technologist or equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain instrumentation and the work area.
  • Maintain quality control and calibration functions.
  • Provide training and assess competencies.
  • Complete testing within established time frames.
  • Recognize and address issues within the department.
