About the company

Orfium provides AI-driven music rights management technology for rights holders, labels, publishers, broadcasters, and collecting societies to handle licenses and how music is used online and on broadcasts. Its tools include Sync Tracker, which monitors licensed and unlicensed music on platforms like YouTube, and Soundmouse, a cue-sheet system for broadcasters, with AI automating license management and usage tracking. What believers are saying

  • In July 2025, Orfium won a €7.5 million EU AIXPERT grant.
  • The grant backs explainable AI for detecting copyrighted music inside AI-generated outputs.
  • BMI's 2026 Soundmouse purchase should free Orfium capital for higher-growth software.

What critics are saying

  • BMI agreed May 19, 2026 to buy Soundmouse, shrinking Orfium's product breadth.
  • Orfium's moat depends on platform licenses from YouTube, broadcasters, and collecting societies.
  • If AI rights attribution standards bypass Orfium, its core monetization engine becomes irrelevant.

What makes Orfium unique

  • Orfium combines UGC claiming and broadcast cue-sheet reporting across digital and linear media.
  • Its 2023 Soundmouse acquisition linked YouTube rights monitoring with global broadcast royalties workflows.
  • Japan deals with Avex, Pony Canyon, and Bandai Namco show rare local market access.
