About the job
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or another technical degree is required; Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robot controllers such as FANUC or Yaskawa is required.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with mechanical and software-based diagnostic tools are required.
- Ability to navigate and use a Linux environment is required.
- Ability to travel 75%-100% of each month is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate project information to any level of the company, are required.
- Assist with on-site deployment operations and serve as the on-site company presence from the start of deployment until the system is operating in production.
- Commission robotic systems on-site, including hardware, software, controls, and networking.
- Coordinate tasks and resources as the on-site project manager, working with headquarters to prioritize issues and handle client communications.
- Develop an understanding of customers’ existing operations and workflows to ensure systems fit their operational processes.
- Log site issues in the tracking system for engineering, deployment, and support teams, and troubleshoot those issues.
- Ensure system performance expectations are achieved before conducting Site Acceptance Testing and customer training.
- Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and upgrades for customers.
- Travel extensively, between 75% and 100%.
- Experience in system, electrical, or mechanical design in factory automation or warehouse automation is preferred.
- Experience in system and component design using computer-aided design tools is preferred.
- Experience with simulation tools for offline robot programming and layout considerations is preferred.
- Exposure to programmable logic controller programming and control logic, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Keyence, or CODESYS, is preferred.
- Exposure to Rust or Python programming is preferred.
- Exposure to Representational State Transfer (REST) is preferred.
- Experience generating technical documents is preferred.
