KLA bull case: $13.6B revenue and AI demand meet a premium valuation versus AMAT and LRCX

KLA Corporation, which makes chip inspection and measurement tools, is drawing a bullish case built on rising semiconductor complexity and AI-driven demand. Fiscal 2026 revenue rose 11.7% to $13.6 billion, with free cash flow of $3.8 billion and a 35.6% net margin. KLAC shares gained 19.83% over the past 12 months, trailing Applied Materials at 63.07% and Lam Research at 46.65%. KLA beat the S&P 500 four years running, but is it skill? 23 of 485 stocks did the same

KLA Corp, which sells chipmaking tools, has beaten the S&P 500 in each of the last four years. Only 23 of 485 large US stocks measured did the same. Luck alone would produce about 12 such streaks, so the record happens more often than chance predicts. Share price alone cannot show which companies owe it to better management. KLA's net income grew 47.3% over the four years while its stock rose 453.2%. Profit fell in the twelve months to September 2023 and again to September 2024, yet the stock still beat the index. On its July 28, 2026 call, management expected advanced packaging process control revenue to grow more than 70% in calendar 2026. The next earnings report, due in October 2026, will show whether profit growth holds.

KLA packaging sales to hit $1.1B in 2026, up 70%, as AI demand lifts the stock

KLA expects about $1.1 billion in revenue from packaging process control systems in calendar 2026, up more than 70% from a year earlier. Management raised the forecast on its fiscal Q4 2026 call on July 28, 2026, from an earlier high-50% growth estimate. Management links the demand to AI, which requires new, complex packaging steps. Customers adopting methods such as hybrid bonding are buying more inspection tools. Packaging remains a small part of KLA, which had $13.6 billion in sales over the last twelve months. Fiscal Q4 revenue hit a record $3.66 billion, with gross margin of 62.4%. The company guided to $4 billion for the September quarter, plus or minus $200 million. Higher memory component costs and long lead times of 12 to 24 months could limit output. The stock trades at 51.4 times earnings, against 21.9 for the S&P 500.
