Sarasota Memorial Health Care System provides regional hospital and outpatient care in Southwest Florida, operating two acute-care hospitals (the flagship 897-bed Sarasota hospital and SMH-Venice with 212 beds), two freestanding ERs, and a network of outpatient centers with over 2,500 medical staff. Care is delivered across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services within a single regional network to ensure coordinated, comprehensive treatment. It is the region's only public, not-for-profit health system, serving as a safety net for uninsured and underinsured, which helps it offer broad access and community-focused care. Its goal is to provide accessible, high-quality health care to residents through an integrated network that meets diverse needs.
