Finance Assistant - Lead-Finance Operations
About the job
- A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.
- Six to eight years of experience in business FP&A Operations is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and the ability to quickly learn new enterprise resource planning or business intelligence tools.
- Good knowledge of US GAAP.
- Flexibility to take on different assignments and activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Approve job creation in the accounting system (SAP Vantage), manage job lifecycles, and close jobs in a timely manner.
- Approve job system (SAP) estimates with supporting documentation.
- Post soft costs to clear work in progress (WIP).
- Review WIP and job details reports weekly.
- Identify and prepare write-off forms and cost-transfer requests with account leads.
- Issue and distribute client and intercompany invoices through client portals or email, and file the documentation.
- Review accrual and deferred revenue balances monthly and ensure revenue accruals are kept to a minimum.
- Close jobs within three months of completion.
- Provide commentary on monthly aged WIP and debtors reports.
- Support resolution of invoice-related client queries upon request.
- Support the Commercial Finance Manager with the monthly revenue recognition process, including preparing ETCs and creating and allocating Vantage contracts and statements of work.
- Train team members from areas such as project management, account management, and Finance when requested.
- Manage debtor accounts for assigned clients, ensuring collections follow client agreements and resolving queries promptly with relevant internal teams.
- Prior experience with record-to-report (R2R) processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, MediaOcean, and Hyperion Financial Management.
- FP&A and Finance Operations experience.
