  • A high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Graduation from a New York State-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification is preferred, including NHA, AMT, AAMA, or NCCT certification.
  • BCLS certification obtained through in-person American Heart Association training is required.
  • Strong clinical skills in phlebotomy and aseptic technique are required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms by sanitizing them, stocking supplies, and ensuring medications and vaccines are ready for the day.
  • Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care, including mammograms, colonoscopies, and immunizations.
  • Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
  • Take and record vital signs, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
  • Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens and track and document results.
  • Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
  • Help at the front desk by greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurance when needed.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to support patient outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AMT, AAMA, or NCCT.
