Head Veterinary Nurse (Full Time or Part Time) - Greencross Vets Ellenbrook

Greencross Vets Ellenbrook is looking for a full-time or part -time Head Nurse to lead our nursing team in a busy, well-established clinic with a genuinely supportive and positive culture.

About our clinic

Ellenbrook is one of our newer, purpose-built clinics and is co-located with Petbarn, providing a convenient and seamless experience for clients.

Our clinic features:

• Three spacious consult rooms
• A dedicated surgical theatre
• Separate dog ward
• Digital X-ray and ultrasound
• Full in-house laboratory
• Thoughtful, fear-free design elements

We are a busy clinic with a steady and growing client base. Our puppy preschool brings plenty of new faces through the doors each week, and we’ve built strong, long-term relationships with many of our clients.

About the role

As Head Nurse, you will take a hands-on leadership role, supporting both the clinical team and day-to-day operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring, and developing the nursing team
• Creating a positive and cohesive team environment
• Managing workflow in a busy clinical setting
• Supporting veterinarians with surgical and medical cases
• Performing general nursing duties including patient care, anaesthesia, pathology, and emergency support
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of clinic processes and efficiency
• Communicating professionally with clients across all touchpoints

This is a role where you’ll have real influence on team culture, clinical standards, and how the clinic continues to grow.

We recognise the value that experienced and highly qualified nurses bring to the team. We offer competitive hourly rates, with higher pay available for nurses who hold advanced registration with the Veterinary Practice Board and bring a strong, demonstrated clinical skillset. About you

You will bring:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
• At least 3 years of clinical experience
• Previous experience mentoring or leading nurses
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Confidence working in a busy environment
• A supportive, team-first leadership style
• A proactive and reliable approach
• Experience with RxWorks (desirable)
